Fossil Park - 5705 Centennial Road, Sylvania, Ohio
Fossil Park is open daily, 9am to 6pm, from Memorial Day until the third weekend of October.
There is not an admission fee.
Please be advised tools of any kind are not permitted in Fossil Park. We do recommend that you bring something with you such as a pail, bucket, egg carton, etc. to carry your fossils home with you.
Travel back 375 million years ago when NW Ohio was a great sea teeming with life. You can experience that reality today with a visit to The Fossil park in Sylvania, OH. Fossil Park is one of just a handful of its type in the nation & is one of only two prime Devonian Era fossil sites on the entire planet.
Dig for your own unique brand of buried treasure as you hunt for these world reknown fossils in a 5-acre rock quarry. The Devonian fossils come from Hanson Aggregate Midwest's large working quarries a mile south of Fossil park Join us at Fossil Park where you can hunt for these fossils in a safe & controlled environment.

Sylvan Prairie Park - 8501 Brint Road, Sylvania, Ohio
TOPS acquired this 60-acre park site in Summer 2003. It purchased 46.67 acres for $1.4 million & received another 13.33 acres, valued at $400,000, via a donation. The park sytem received $353,000 from the State of Ohio in "Clean Ohio" funds and $200,000 from the Land & Water Conservation Fund to assist with the purchase.
While plans are still under consideration, at least 80% of the former farm field & failed golf course development will be rehabilitated into Oak savanna, meadow, & wetlands. It will feature a sledding hill on the highest elevation in Lucas County, 3-acre lake, permanent restrooms, & at least one playground. A community hall & water sprayground are other options under consideration.
Whetstone Park - Roan Road & McGregor Road, Sylvania, Ohio
The initial park under TOPS jurisdiction & one of the first 3 parks in the Sylvania area, Whetstone is a 3-acre recreation site that has served area residents since 1959. It features an open air shelter with a 4 foot charcoal grill that is available on a first-come basis.
Whetstone has an ADA-accessible playground, sand volleyball court, & 2-acre open field suitable for soccer & other activities. It is located at McGregor & Roan Roads, behind Starlite Shopping Center. Restroom facilities are not available at Whetstone Park.
