When is Lake Olander open for ice skating and ice fishing? TOP
TOPS opens Lake Olander when the ENTIRE lake freezes to 8 inches of clear blue ice. Green Flags fly when the ice is safe; Red Flags indicate unsafe ice. How much does it cost to rent an open-air shelter or Nederhouser Community Hall? TOP
All facilities at Olander Park are on a rental-only basis. The Whetstone Park open-air shelter is the only one in the park system available on a first-come first-served basis. Does TOPS maintain any other area parks? TOP
Besides Olander Park, TOPS operates Fossil Park, Southview Oak Savanna, Sylvan Prairie Park, Quarry Ridge Bike Trail, Whetstone Park, Waterbury Wet Woods, and the as-yet-unnamed 5-acre oak savanna parcel on Herr Road. What boats are available for rental at Olander Park? TOP
TOPS offers paddleboat and rowboat rentals. You MUST be 16 years of age or older to rent a boat and 12 or older to ride in one without an adult guardian.
All boat rentals require a $5 deposit:
Paddleboats: $3 per half-hour, seats up to 3 people
Rowboats: $3 per hour, seats up to 4 people
Fisherman's Special: Monday through Friday, $6 per day; holidays excluded
The two sailboats and rescue boat at Olander Park are not for rent or public use. Does TOPS offer swimming and what is the fee? TOP
Lake Olander's Swim & Beach Facility is open seasonally from the Memorial Day through Labor Day Holiday Weekends, and daily from early June to mid-August. Noon to 7 p.m.; after August 8 at 6 p.m. Admission for Sylvania School District residents is $2 per person, with all others $4 per person; Kids 2 & under free. Are TOPS Facilities open on holidays? TOP
All TOPS sites are open Holidays except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve & Day, and New Years Eve & Day. On Christmas Eve & New Years Eve, only Olander Park is open, and only from 7am to Noon.
TOPS closes Fossil Park from July 1 to 5. What are admission costs, swim fees, boat fees etc? TOP
